Maxx Yehl “Feels Good” After Being Pulled From Outing on Saturday

Maxx Yehl was pulled from his outing on Saturday against Houston after just working two full innings. Yehl was pulled from the game after facing one batter in the third frame, which was a walk.

Prior to that Yehl walked two batters, allowed two hits and had just recorded two strikeouts.

Steve Sabins, the Mountaineers head coach claims that Yehl is dealing with fatigue, not an injury.

“We’ll see how Yehl is doing tomorrow. I think he’s going to be okay,” Sabins said.  “I think probably more fatigue, a little bit beat up. The ball wasn’t coming out of his hand well, so a little bit of a scare there. We’ll get more information tomorrow.”

WV Sports Chat caught up with Yehl this weekend in which Yehl stated he “felt good” after getting some rest.

On the year Yehl has worked 52.1 innings allowing just 17 runs on 45 hits and has recorded 62 strikeouts, a team high and has just allowed 15 walks along the way.

Yehl is 5-1 with a 2.41 ERA on the year.

Yehl, who came off of Tommy John surgery, missed all of last season to recover. He has started in all 10 appearances this season for the Mountaineers.

If he were to miss any time at all, it will likely be a cautionary thing rather than a serious health or injury issue.
