MORGANTOWN, W.Va.- The West Virginia University basketball team got some exciting news on Wednesday when Brenen Lorient’s agent announced his plans to remain with the Mountaineers for the 2026-27 season.
The 6-foot-9 forward started all 34 games for WVU and averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Lorient and teammate Javan Buchanan filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia last week seeking an immediate injunction and temporary restraining order for a fifth season.
Lorient’s return adds experience and skill to the Mountaineers’ frontcourt.
