Morgantown, WV – It has been an active day of transfer portal news for the West Virginia Mountaineers. After losing Cyncir Bowers and Hammond Russell earlier today, Rich Rodriguez will now have to replace yet another talented player with this evening’s news. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, WVU receiver Rodney Gallagher is set to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Gallagher, a Pennsylvania native, has spent the last three seasons with the Mountaineers. A part of the 2023 recruiting class, the former four-star prospect has notched 64 grabs for 605 yards and 3 touchdowns. He has also been used in the ground game, toting the ball for 221 yards on 45 carries.
With his departure, the Mountaineers will now be without their top seven pass catchers from the 2025 season.
