Each week, I’ll bring you the pulse of Mountaineer athletics – whether it be game highlights, player spotlights, or tidbits from the recruiting trail.

This week – we breakdown another wild recruiting weekend for the Mountaineers.

  • OL Justyn Lyles commits to West Virginia

Cincinnati (Oh.) offensive lineman Justyn Lyles committed to the Mountaineers on Sunday following his official visit to West Virginia.

Lyles, 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, chose the Mountaineers over Ball State, Marshall, Miami (Oh.), Maryland and Tulsa, among others. He is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports.

His verbal pledge capped off a wild Sunday for the Mountaineers, as they received commitments from offensive lineman Camden Goforth, wide receiver Robert Stith and linebacker Aaron Edwards.

  • DB Aaron Bradshaw flipping commitment to West Virginia?

Forth Worth (Tx.) defensive back Aaron Bradshaw is currently committed to Texas Tech, but that didn’t keep the Rivals four-star prospect from taking an official visit to WVU recently.

Bradshaw, 6-foot-4, 190-pound, safety, plans to visit Texas Tech later this month and then make a final decision soon after.

  • QB Legend Bay is prepared to make a decision

Class of 2026 quarterback prospect Legend Bay is set to make a decision on June 28th and West Virginia finds themselves firmly in the mix.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound, signal caller, announced on Instagram he will decide between West Virginia, Tennessee, Duke, Texas A&M and Ohio State. Bey took an official visit to Morgantown in early June, but visited Tennessee this past weekend.

Known for his athleticism and versatility, Bey threw for over 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns last season while rushing for over 1,900 yards and 28 touchdowns.

The Mountaineers currently have one quarterback commitment in the 2026 recruiting class in West Palm Beach (Fla.) QB Jyron Hughley.

  • West Virginia making push for top wide receiver

After receiving a commitment this past weekend from Niceville (Fla.) wide receiver Robert Stith, the Mountaineer coaching staff is continuing to try and build the receiver position making a strong push for Wheaton (IL) receiver Zachary Washington.

Washington, 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, took an official visit to West Virginia this past weekend and the Mountaineers appear to be in good standing – trying to fend off Wisconsin and Michigan State for his services.

Last season Washington recorded over 1,400 total yards and 16 touchdowns.
