Maxx Yehl Impresses on Friday Night

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

After missing last week due to needing some rest and other concerns, Maxx Yehl made his return to the West Virginia rotation on Friday night.

And he did not disappoint.

On the evening Yehl worked five complete innings not allowing a run to score on three hits while walking just two batters and striking out eight in the process.

Yehl now has 70 strikeouts on the season.

The Mountaineers only needed work from two pitchers with Ian Korn working the last four innings out of the bullpen.

In those four innings Korn struck out two while walking one and allowed one hit.

West Virginia went on to defeat Kansas State, 7-0.
