Morgantown, WV – In the world of NIL, loyalty to a program is a dying idea. Players across the country regularly jump from school to school, often chasing the biggest payday they can possibly acquire. That is, however, not the case for WVU’s Ben Cutter.
Cutter, a senior linebacker for the Mountaineers, spoke to the media earlier this week about his decision to stick with the Old Gold & Blue. His answer regarding the transfer portal left many WVU fans appreciating his dedication to being a Mountaineer.
“I want to be able to be a West Virginia fan for the rest of my life. I don’t know what people do who transfer to 4 different schools. Who do you support when you’re done playing college football?
Cutter was not shy to express his undying loyalty to the WVU Football program. For a player to have this mindset in today’s collegiate athletics environment is special. While he may not leave Morgantown as one of the best players in history statistically, Cutter will now be remembered as the guy who loved West Virginia and chose the program over himself.
