MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– West Virginia inside receivers coach Blaine Stewart announced on Twitter his departure from the football program on Thursday morning.
“Thank you to the fans for their unwavering support throughout my time in Morgantown,” he said. “I look forward to continuing to represent the program in the future and wish all of you nothing but success moving forward. This chapter may be closing, but my connection to this place and the people here will never end.”

News of Stewart accepting a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was announced yesterday by 247 Sports’ Mike Casazza.
The West Virginia native was hired by Neal Brown and spent two seasons with the Mountaineers as a tight ends coach. When Rich Rodriguez was hired, he retained Stewart and moved him to inside receivers.
Stewart is the son of former WVU head coach Bill Stewart, who led the Mountaineers to a 28-12 (.700) three-year record from 2008-10.
Before joining the Mountaineers, Stewart was was a coaching assistant on Mike Tomlin’s staff in Pittsburgh.
