Brodie Kresser tells WV Sports Chat that he will not sign a undrafted free agent deal and will return for one final season at West Virginia.
In this summers MLB Draft, Kresser had been projected to go anywhere between rounds 10-20, but instead he was not drafted.
If it wasn’t for the JUCO route, Kresser would not have any eligibility remaining, but will use his remaining eligibility to return to WVU to raise his draft stock for next season.
In his career at WVU, Kresser has seven home runs with 65 RBIs along with 26 stolen bases. He has a career slash line of .278/.388/.397 with an OPS of .784.
Kresser, who mainly plays time at shortstop, could see some time at third base with the departure of Sam White, who signed an UDFA deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Kresser though has not played a single game at the collegiate level at third base.
He’s played 84 games at shortstop, 26 game at second base and four games in the outfield.
