WVU Running Back Named Preseason All-American

By: Justin Walker | WV Sports Chat

Back on August 6th, The Sporting News named WVU football running back Cam Cook to their preseason All-American team. The Jacksonville State transfer was named a First Team All-Purpose player.

Here is what the publication said about the Senior running back:

Cook (5-9, 203) – a Jacksonville State transfer – rushed for 1,659 yards and 16 TDs last season and ranked second in the FBS with 149.6 total yards per game. Cook had nine games with 100-plus rushing yards. He gives second-year coach Rich Rodriguez an all-around playmaker in the backfield in an improved West Virginia offense.

Cook was the only Mountaineer player on the Preseason All-America team. For the entire list of All-American selections, check out the article at Sporting News.
