MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Ross Hodge and WVU basketball received commitments from two guards on Thursday. One is coming by way of the transfer portal and the other from the high school ranks.
Transfer Portal Addition
The portal addition is former Florida State guard Martin Somerville. WVU will be his third school in as many years.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard averaged 26 minutes per game for the Seminoles last season. He led the team in steals, averaging nearly 1.5 per game. The Bowie, Maryland native averaged 8 points per game during his year at FSU. He did so by shooting 33.7% from three-point range and 33.6% overall. A whopping 90% of his shot attempts came from behind the arc.
The 3-star transfer shot over 40% from three-point range during his freshman season. He started his career with UMASS-Lowell, where he averaged 13.6 points and 1.5 steals per game. Heās averaging 3 assists per game over his career.
High School Recruit
West Virginia also received a commitment from 3-star high school commit Keonte Greybear on Thursday.
Another combo guard, Greybear comes to Morgantown from iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy in Lewisville, Tx.
Per 247 Sports, he is rated as the number 24 combo guard in the 2026 class and the number 14 player overall from the state of Texas.

Greybear chose the Mountaineers over offers from Kansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M.
