Three-star guard Kingston Whitty has requested his release from West Virginia University.
The North Carolina native signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at WVU back in November 2025.

The 6-foot-2 star played his high school ball at Christ School, who was part of the Nike EYBL conference. The EYBL also featured Bella Vista Prep, the school where two other 2026 WVU signees Miles Sadler and Aliou Dioum played.
This now creates one more roster spot for Ross Hodge and his staff to fill before the 2026-27 season.
