Morgantown, WV – West Virginia defensive back Jordan Scruggs is seeking an extra year of eligibility due to time spent at the junior college level. While fans were hopeful he could spend one last season in the Gold and Blue, it now appears that he will be playing elsewhere, should he play college football in 2026.
In a post on X, Scruggs announced that he has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. The Missouri native was last in the portal in 2024, coming to WVU from South Alabama.
Scruggs appeared in all 12 games for the Mountaineers in 2025. Tallying 33 tackles and a forced fumble, his highlight moment came on an 80-yard pick-six against the Houston Cougars on November 1st.
There has been no word on if Scruggs will receive an extra year of eligibility.
