Jimmori Robinson Will Make WVU Debut Against KU

The wait is officially over.

On his weekly radio show Monday evening, Rich Rodriguez announced something that WVU fans have been longing to hear all offseason and the first three weeks of the season. Rodriguez stated that Robinson, who transferred to WVU from UTSA, will make his debut this Saturday against Kansas.

Robinson was unable to participate in practice throughout fall camp as he awaited a ruling on his eligibility. Which ultimately the court decided in his favor.

Robinson, who has not played all season due to eligibility issues, was on the dress list for WVU on Saturday against Pitt, but did not play.

Robinson is coming in at good time as well.

After the win against Pitt, West Virginia’s defensive line was named Big 12 Defensive Line of the Week. The defense in total had six sacks, which is how many they had in two games against Robert Morris and Ohio combined.

Now, WVU is only eight sacks away from tying last seasons total of 20. Chase Wilson, the senior, leads the way with three sacks on the season.

Rodriguez did say that Robinson will play, but it may be limited action.

“Can he play 60-70 plays? There’s no way. You got to practice some. He practiced some last week; he’ll get some practice in this week. He’s been working out. I think he’s in really good shape,” Rodriguez said.

But, WVU fans can expect Robinson to be on the field for a majority of snaps with rest in between some plays from time to time.
