The West Virginia football team is grappling with a significant blow as two of its standout offensive players, running back Jahiem White and wide receiver Jaden Bray, have been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 regular season due to injuries sustained in their recent game against Ohio University.
The news was first reported by Mike Casazza of 247Sports.
Jahiem White went down midway through the first half against the Bobcats in a play that has since drawn scrutiny. The injury occurred when an Ohio defender executed a horse-collar tackle.
White, who had amassed nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage over his first two seasons, was off to a promising start in 2025. White had already notched three touchdowns, including a pivotal 32-yard score that stood as WVU’s only touchdown against Ohio. His absence leaves a gaping hole in the Mountaineers’ rushing attack.
Compounding the team’s misfortune, wide receiver Jaden Bray suffered an apparent foot injury in the second half of the same game. Unlike White’s dramatic exit, Bray managed to limp to the sideline under his own power, but he too was later carted off.
Bray, who transferred to WVU from Oklahoma State, has been plagued by injuries throughout his tenure with the Mountaineers. After missing most of last year, he returned as a starter in 2025, recording seven catches for 95 yards in a game and a half before this latest injury.
