West Virginia men’s basketball now has a complete roster for the 2026-26 season.
Barning Jr., 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward, originally slated for the 2026 recruiting class, announced his decision to join the Mountaineers on Friday afternoon, with plans to reclassify to the 2025 class.
Barning Jr. made the announcement on social media.
“I want to thank God for putting me in this position to exceed my family for supporting my dreams since day one. My teammates for fighting with me through hardship all that being said I’m excited Go WVU”
Barning Jr., who averaged of 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game at the Peach Jam with Team Durant, showcased his all-around game throughout the entire summer circuit. His 29-point highlight-reel performance against Brad Beal Elite not only turned heads but also signaled his potential to contribute immediately to WVU’s lineup.
While not a traditional post-up player, his skill set is high on versatility, allowing him to guard multiple positions and stretch the floor.
