The West Virginia football program finds itself in a prime position to bolster their secondary, as Orland Park (II.) 2026 defensive back Vincent Smith narrows his college choices to a final three, with a commitment date set for July 10th.
Smith, 6-foot-2, 200-pounds, pits WVU against Iowa and Purdue.
Smith was originally committed to Northern Illinois, but after taking visits to each of his final three schools during the month of June, he decided to back off that pledge.
The Carl Sandburg High standout is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports with a player rating of 89. He is rated the No. 39 cornerback in the country and the 13th best player overall in the state of Illinois.
West Virginia currently holds commitments in the secondary from Emory Snyder, Emari Peterson, Simaj Hill, Rickey Giles, Aaron Edwards, and Jaylon Jones.
