WVU’s Bryant Yoak Struggles in Latest Appalachian League Outing, Still Producing Good K/BB Numbers

In his latest outing for the Tri-State Coal Cats, starting pitching Bryant Yoak did not have a stellar outing.

In just three innings of work Yoak allowed seven runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and two walks jumping his ERA to 6.75 on the summer.

However, Yoak has impressed in one of his outings this summer and that came against Danville in a 2-0 victory.

In that game Yoak tossed three innings of scoreless ball on hit allowed with six strikeouts and just allowed one free pass.

On the season Yoak has worked eight innings allowing seven runs with 12 strikeouts and four walks.

“Yoak has good stuff. He’s finding his rhythm and positioning on the mound,” one scout told WV Sports Chat. “He has a chance to turn some heads and be a good pitcher for the Mountaineers next season.”
