JJ Wetherholt has been turning heads ever since making his professional debut with the St. Louis Cardinal organization last season.
Wetherholt, who was selected by the Cardinals in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2024 MLB Draft, has been playing good pro ball.
In his first season at Single-A with Palm Beach, Wetherholt in 29 games hit two home runs and drove in 20 runs while stealing two bases. He also slashed .295/.405/.400 in his shortened first year.
He impressed so much in those 29 games that he got the start at Double-A this season.
In 62 games with Springfield, Wetherholt has hit six home runs with another 33 runs driven in. He’s also got an impressive .299 batting average to boot.
