West Virginia football is hard on the recruiting trail, gaining commitments to help Rich Rodriguez’s staff bring back glory to the Mountaineers.
Looking at this upcoming 2025 class, according to 247 Sports, West Virginia has snagged a couple of great recruits in four-star defensive linemen Taylor Brown, who signed on June 12, 2025, and three-star cornerback Dawayne Galloway, who signed on December 4, 2024.
This current class for West Virginia, which consists of two four stars and 18 three stars, is 46th in the nation and ranks ninth in the Big 12, according to Rivals/On3 network.
These recruits have a difficult task of helping Rich Rodriguez turn WVU back into a contending team in the Big 12 and give the Mountaineer faithful a reason to cheer at Milan Puskar Stadium for years to come.
For the moment, the 2026 class, according to Rivals/On3 network, features commitments from four-star athlete Jyron Hughley, who is from Belle Glade, Florida, and three-star running back Jett Walker, who is from Lampasas, Texas.
The Mountaineers lost a lot of talent from last year’s team, including starting quarterback Garrett Greene, backup running back CJ Donaldson, and starting offensive linemen Wyatt Milum.
Rich Rodriguez and his coaching staff must motivate the incoming 2025 class so they can persuade and find some hidden gems for the future 2026 recruiting class that want to play in Morgantown, which, according to 247 Sports, has 23 three-star recruits and no four-star recruits.
Moving forward, the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes are still young, and many things can still change in both a positive and negative direction for West Virginia.
