Former West Virginia guard JJ Quinerly stole the spotlight in her first WNBA start, leading the Dallas Wings to a 79-71 win over the Washington Mystics on Saturday night.
Quinerly scored a season-high 15 points in her first WNBA start. She also recorded a career high in rebounds (4) and tied a career high in assists (4).
Her breakout night came at a pivitol time for the Wings, who were without star player Paige Buekers due to a reported knee injury. Stepping into the starting lineup, Quinerly not only met the challenge, but exceeded expectations with new career highs.
On the season Quinerly is averaging 4.1 points per game, 1.2 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game.
The Wings are 5-13 on the season.
