The West Virginia football program has landed a significant commitment from Pittsburgh (Pa.) class of 2027 linebacker Minikon Johnson.
The early pledge marks a bold step for the Mountaineers, who have already been making waves with their strong 2026 recruiting class.
Johnson, 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, earned his scholarship offer from the Mountaineers earlier this month after an impressive performance at a 7-on-7 event, where he showcased his physicality and versatility on the defensive side of the ball.
Last season as a sophomore, he recorded 43 tackles and two sacks.
The Bishop-Canevin standout also held offers from Akron and Kent State.
He becomes the second commitment for the 2027 class joining West Mifflin (Pa.) running back Armand Hill.
