MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt senior pitcher Griffin Kirn has been named a Third Team All-American by the NCBWA, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Kirn made 18 appearances on the mound for the Mountaineers with 17 starts. He went 5-3 with a 3.36 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 99.0 innings pitched, becoming just the 15th Mountaineer to record 100 strikeouts in a season. He was named to the All-Big 12 First Team as well as the Clemson Regional All-Tournament Team.
Kirn becomes the 11th Mountaineer to be named an All-American by the NCBWA. It is also the fourth consecutive season that WVU has had an NCBWA All-American after Trey Braithwaite was named to the third team in 2022, JJ Wetherholt to the first team in 2023, and Derek Clark to third team in 2024.
Overall, Kirn is the 28th Mountaineer to be named an All-American, totaling 67 All-America accolades from all publications, 38 of which have come since WVU joined the Big 12 in 2013.
