Cole’s overall performance at Newberry College this past season was certainly impressive, as he posted a 3.39 ERA over 87 innings. He racked up 97 strikeouts while issuing just 21 walks. He was rated the No. 29 pitcher in Division II last year.
In one game this past season against Tusculum, Cole went six innings giving up just one hit while striking out 15 batters.
This commitment marks the second notable Division II transfer for the Mountaineers, as Cole joins Paul Schoenfeld, the No. 33 ranked hitter in Division II last season.
