Johnson was a four-star recruit out of Houston, Texas, who entered the transfer portal last week. She was among a few other Houston players to enter the portal.
The 5-foot-10 guard, who has two years of eligibility remaining, played 69 games and made 13 starts for the Lady Red Raiders.
After averaging 4.6 points per game in her freshman year, Johnson averaged 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 38.9 percent on three-pointers and 52.3 percent from the floor.
Johnson comes in to help replace the production of JJ Quinerly, who averaged 20.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and three steals per game as West Virginia finished 25-8 and finished No. 21 in the final AP rankings of the season.
Johnson is the first transfer that head coach Mark Kellogg has picked up this portal cycle.
