The leading scorer for the 2025-26 WVU Men’s Basketball team has officially declared for the NBA Draft. Senior Honor Huff made the declaration in a letter posted to his social media accounts on Thursday.

Huff only spent one season at WVU, but it was a memorable one. He became a fan favorite in a short amount of time. Not only was it his playing ability that made fans love him, but he also had a positive attitude and infectious smile.

Huff leaves West Virginia as the program record holder for three-pointers made in a season (120). For his career, he made a total of 412 three-point shots. That places him 25th all-time in NCAA history.

Huff spent his freshman season at VMI before transferring to UT-Chattanooga. The 5-foot-10 guard would sit out the following season due to a Southern Conference rule (because he transferred within the conference).

He would remain at Chattanooga through his junior year in 2024-25. That season he led the Mocs to an NIT Championship while making an NCAA best 131 three-pointers. He received All-Conference First Team honors.

After his stellar junior season, the Brooklyn, New York native wanted to prove he could play at the high-major level. That led him to Morgantown, West Virginia and first year head coach, Ross Hodge.

In his lone season suiting up for WVU men’s basketball, Huff averaged 16.5 points per game. Those points included some of the wildest, and most difficult looking three-point baskets WVU fans have ever seen.

He finished his career with a bang in the CBB Crown Tournament in Las Vegas. In the championship game, he scored 38 points to help lead the Mountaineers to a victory over Oklahoma. After that performance, he was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Huff would finish his college career with an average of 14.9 points and 2.3 assists per game over four years.

Below is a closer look at Huff’s career stats and achievements, per his X account.
