MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–With Darian DeVries leaving the West Virginia basketball program to become the head coach at Indiana, there is speculation from everyone as to who the next coach will be.
One name that pops back up is former head coach Bob Huggins.
It is a name that some fans want back while others prefer to move on from. After Rich Rodriguez returned, it left some Mountaineers hoping that the Hall of Fame coach would return.
Wren Baker was asked that on Wednesday during his press conference.
“Yeah, I’m not going to talk about candidate,” Baker said. “I think I answered that last year by saying, I appreciate our tradition, especially his contributions to it. But really focused on the future and that’s probably the same way I would answer it today. Other than that, I don’t have a lot to offer in terms of specific candidates.”
Huggins, 71, has expressed interest in returning to coaching.

Love Huggs, but he stayed way too long & to many fans wanted it & more just because he’s a native & ect. They ignored WVUs big decline under him for the past large handful of years. He’s a WVU legend, but it was past time for him to go & its time for WVU to move on as this last season showed.
I agree 100%.
