On Thursday, junior transfer pitcher Dawson Montesa had a bounce back performance for the No. 20 ranked Mountaineers.
Montesa, who only worked three innings with one strikeout, worked seven innings with seven strikeouts in the Mountaineers 7-4 victory.
This was his second time recording seven strikeouts this season.
Montesa’s best performance came on Feb. 27 against Kennesaw State where he worked seven innings allowing one run on four hits with a season best 11 strikeouts. The week prior against Liberty he worked four innings with eight strikeouts.
