It took only seven pitches to see exactly what freshman David Perez brings to the table for the West Virginia baseball team.
In the inning of work Perez struck out two batters and earned his first collegiate save.
Perez flirted with 97 mph on Saturday night and barely missed the strike zone against Georgia Southern.
If West Virginia had questions of who could be its late inning worker or even the closer, they surely have those questions answered in the confident arm of Perez.
Perez earned his first collegiate save in the Mountaineers’ 5-2 victory over Georgia Southern.
