Morgantown, WV – The 2025 season was a difficult one for WVU football’s running back room. After injuries decimated the position, redshirt freshman Diore Hubbard stepped up and put together a solid campaign. Despite putting up impressive performances to close out the season, the Ohio native entered the NCAA Transfer Portal following the season.

While it took several weeks, Hubbard has finally found his destination for the 2026 season. According to multiple reports, Hubbard has signed with the Wyoming Cowboys out of the Mountain West Conference.

Hubbard finished the 2025 season as WVU’s leading rusher, tallying 335 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also proved to be productive in the passing game, notching 16 receptions for 156 yards with a long of 69 yards against Colorado.
