West Virginia has received a commitment from UNLV transfer cornerback Andrew Powdrell.
He announced his decision on social media.
Powdrell, a 5’10”, 180-pound junior from The Woodlands, Texas, brings a wealth of experience to Morgantown. He began his collegiate career at Montana State, where he earned Second Team All-Big Sky honors as a sophomore in 2024, recording 41 tackles, seven pass breakups, and two tackles for loss.
Following that season, Powdrell entered the transfer portal in January 2025 and joined UNLV for the 2025 campaign.
During his lone season with the Runnin’ Rebels, Powdrell appeared in 14 games, amassing 63 tackles, five passes defended, and 1.5 tackles for loss.
The commitment follows Powdrell’s official visit to West Virginia on January 5-6, 2026, just days after his UNLV teammate, linebacker Isaiah Patterson, also pledged to the Mountaineers.
