BREAKING: WVU Football Adds Another Wide Receiver from Transfer Portal

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Rich Rodriguez and the WVU football program have secured a commitment from wide receiver DJ Epps. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver spent the past three seasons at Troy. The Alabama native caught 47 passes for 512 yards and 5 touchdowns for the Trojans this past season. He also excelled in the return game. He 24.9 yards per return. That ranked him at number six nationally.

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Epps played in 14 games for Troy, which included the Sun Belt title game and a bowl game. He started 12 of those games. He had a receiving grade of 68.1 and an overall offensive grade of 68.7.

Epps also considered Cincinnati. The commitment was first reported by Keenan Cummings at WVSports.com, an affiliate of On3/Rivals.

Epps is the second receiver to commit to WVU this portal cycle. Former USC and Boise State receiver Prince Strachan committed to the Mountaineers earlier this week.
