Hammond Russell Sets Visit to Big 12 Foe

Morgantown, WV – The NCAA Transfer Portal has been active over the last three days. Since the January window officially opened on Friday, thousands of players have been setting visits to various programs around the nation. With several Mountaineers in the portal, we are beginning to learn where they could potentially land next in their playing careers.

According to 247Sports, former WVU defensive lineman Hammond Russell will visit the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday. Russell, who will have one season of eligibility remaining, made 36 appearances during his time in Morgantown. The Ohio native accumulated 40 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks for the Mountaineers.
