BREAKING: Cam Vaughn to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Morgantown, WV – In a shocking turn of events, the West Virginia Mountaineers are now set to lose their leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns to the NCAA Transfer Portal. According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, WVU redshirt sophomore Cam Vaughn plans to enter portal when the window opens next week. This comes only days after the Georgia native claimed he was “a Mountaineer for life” on Instagram Live.

Vaughn followed Rich Rodriguez to Morgantown by way of Jacksonville State. Appearing in all 12 games, the budding superstar tallied 35 receptions for 541 yards and 4 touchdowns. This was on the heels of a breakout season with the Gamecocks in 2024, where he notched 48 catches for 803 yards and 5 touchdowns.

This is arguably WVU’s most significant loss to the transfer portal thus far. Vaughn joins the likes of Jahiem White and Diorre Hubbard, both of which will be on their way out of Morgantown in the near future in the portal.
