Morgantown, WV – With college football’s transfer portal window quickly approaching, many players around the nation have announced their intentions to find a new home in 2026. While players are still several days from announcing their destinations, some have set dates to visit prospective programs. The West Virginia Mountaineers, who are expected to be active in the portal, will host an All-American from the Division II ranks.

According to Pete Nakos of On3 and Steve Wilfong of Rivals, UT-Permian Basin linebacker Tristan Exline will visit West Virginia University on January 9th. Exline is the first significant transfer prospect to announce an official visit to Morgantown this cycle.

The Texas native earned second-team All-American honors after putting together an impressive junior campaign. Tallying 143 tackles, 20 TFLs, 6 sacks, and an interception, Exline put a product on the field that makes him an intriguing prospect for many major programs.

Exline will also visit Florida State on January 2nd.
