After beating Mississippi Valley State last night, WVU men’s basketball now sets its focus on the Big 12 portion of the schedule. Even though West Virginia is heading into conference play with a 9-4 record, the computers are still a fan of this team.
ESPN’s “Matchup Predictions” has WVU going 11-7 in conference play, with a win over a ranked Texas Tech team at home. The majority of those five losses come within the first few weeks of conference play. Obviously, this is highly unlikely to happen but if it does, WVU would finish the season with a record of 20-11, which would likely get the Mountaineers into the tournament in March.
