MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – It’s flip season in Morgantown and the West Virginia Mountaineers are out and running. Rich Rodriguez has landed a commitment from 2026 running back Lawrence Autry out of Collierville High School. Autry chose the Mountaineers over the likes of UNLV and Tulane, the latter of which he was committed to since June.
The 5-foot-11 running back had an insane season this year with the Dragons, recording nearly 1,300 yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground. Autry played his first two seasons of high school football at Center Hill High School in Mississippi where he had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons with double digit touchdowns each season.
Autry becomes the fourth running back commit in the Class of 2026 for West Virginia, joining fellow three-stars in Christopher Talley, SirPaul “Jesus in Cleats” Cheeks, and Martavious Boswell.
The Mountaineers already have a stacked running back room even before this class joins them on campus with Jahiem White, Diore Hubbard, and Cyncir Bowers all available to return next season.
With several offensive line commits, and a seemingly endless running back depth chart, look for the 2026 Mountaineers to be a very run heavy offense next season.
