In a game that will be remembered for years to come, the West Virginia women’s basketball team defied all odds to upset No. 15 Duke, 57-49, at The Greenbrier Tip-Off.
What made this victory even more extraordinary was the circumstances under which it was achieved: the Mountaineers played the entire second half with just five eligible players after a chaotic first-half altercation led to seven ejections, including six from WVU’s roster.
Following the game – the celebration was electric inside Colonial Hall.
