Highly touted 2026 running back Jett Walker has flipped his commitment from West Virginia to the University of Minnesota.
Walker, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound three-star running back from Georgetown High School in Texas, had been committed to WVU since April 2025. The dynamic athlete, who also excels in track, brought an impressive resume to the table, boasting over 5,000 career rushing yards and a top speed of 21.2 mph on tape—stats that had marked him as a potential cornerstone for the Mountaineers’ future backfield.
His versatility and explosiveness also drew offers from programs like Houston, San Diego State, UNLV, and Charlotte, but it was WVU that initially secured his pledge.
However, Walker’s recruitment took a dramatic turn following an official visit to Minnesota last weekend.
The Mountaineers still have commitments from running backs SirPaul Cheeks (Richmond, Va) and Christopher Talley (Memphis, TN) in the class of 2026.
