MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Class of 2026 defensive back Jayden Ballard recently announced on social media that he was committing to the West Virginia Mountaineer program. The 6-foot-1 safety had been committed to the Buffalo Bulls, but flipped his commitment to WVU football on Monday night.
Other than Buffalo and WVU; he was also offered by Air Force, Army, Charlotte, and Wofford, among others. West Virginia was the only power four program to offer the Midlothian, VA native. Ballard plays his high school ball at Manchester High School. He is the 28th commit in the 2026 class for the Mountaineers.
I’ve got a big update to share. After a lot of thought and talks with my family and coaches, I’ve decided to flip my commitment from UB and will now be committing to WVU.
