MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – During Rich Rodriguez’s weekly press conference on Tuesday, he stated that quarterbacks Max Brown and Jaylen Henderson were both “banged up” after the Utah game. He also said they may be limited at practice this week. This led to fans speculating that Khalil Wilkins would likely get the start this week for the Mountaineers.
The first player availability report for Friday night’s game against BYU is out, and it lines up with Rodriguez’s statement. Both Brown and Henderson are listed as questionable for the game. Nicco Marchiol remains out as he deals with an apparent foot injury.
Other new names to the report are defensive lineman Devin Grant (Doubtful), wide receiver Oran Singleton (Questionable) and offensive lineman Kimo Makane’ole (Questionable).
Running back Cyncir Bowers has been removed from the list this week, so it appears the Mountaineers will at least have one of their injured running backs this week in Provo. Tye Edwards also remains questionable, although Rodriguez said things look more positive for him this week.
