WVU Running Back Officially Ruled Out Against Utah

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU football has released the updated Friday availability report for this Saturday’s game against Utah.

Running back Cyncir Bowers is now officially out for the game. Rich Rodriguez stated earlier this week that Bowers had suffered a concussion in last week’s game against Kansas.

The two previous availability reports had the sophomore listed as doubtful. Apparently he did not pass the concussion protocol in time to be active for Saturday’s game.

This is a blow to an already depleted running back room. The Mountaineers are already without preseason All-Big 12 performer Jahiem White for the rest of the season. Tye Edwards, after a 141-yard performance against Pitt in week three, had to miss last week due to a hip injury. Edwards is listed as questionable for this week’s contest.

The full Friday availability report can be seen below.
