West Virginia head football coach Rich Rodriguez has announced starting quarterback Nicco Marchiol is dealing with a foot injury, leaving him questionable for this weekend’s game against Utah.
Rodriguez made the annoucement on Tuesday during his weekly press conference.
“Nicco Marchiol came to see us and said he had some mid-foot pain and it had been bothering him for a while,” Rodriguez said. He’s going to be questionable (for this weekend’s game versus Utah).”
Rodriguez also noted Marchiol is in Colorado to see a foot specialist.
“I think they have a specialist out in Colorado they know and he’s actually out there today (Tuesday) getting that checked out. He says it’s been bothering him for a couple of weeks.”
On the season Marchiol has thrown for 720 yards, completing 67% of his passing attempts. He has thrown two touchdowns and two interceptions and has added a rushing touchdown.
