MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia Mountaineers have bolstered their wide receiver corps for the 2025 season with the official addition of Idaho State transfer Jeff Weimer.
Weimer’s inclusion on the official 2025 roster comes after a legal battle with the NCAA over his eligibility. Alongside teammates Tye Edwards, Jimmori Robinson, and Justin Harrington, Weimer took the organization to court earlier this month.
Judge John Preston Bailey ruled in favor of the players, granting them a temporary restraining order and ordering the NCAA to declare them eligible. This decision clears the way for Weimer to suit up for West Virginia as they prepare for their season opener.
The 6-foot-2 wide receiver brings a wealth of experience to Morgantown, having played at multiple levels of college football.
Weimer’s journey began at City College of San Francisco and Hartnell College before he moved to UNLV, where he caught 26 passes for 278 yards and one touchdown in 2022 across seven games. After taking the 2023 season off, he transferred to Idaho State, where he had a breakout year in 2024, recording 75 receptions for 1,016 yards and six touchdowns over 844 snaps.
