MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – If you want a ticket to this year’s Backyard Brawl, you may need to dig deep into your couch cushions. One media outlet recently named the rivalry between West Virginia and Pitt the most expensive Big 12 football game ticket of the season. The game takes place in Morgantown on September 13 and will kickoff at 3:30pm EDT.

With the return of Rich Rodriguez to WVU, and this being the final Brawl before it takes a three year hiatus, a ticket for the game is a hot item. According to Colorado Buffaloes Wire, an affiliate of USA Today, a single ticket for the week three contest will cost $261 on Vivid Seats.

The Mountaineers’ game against the Colorado Buffaloes also made the list. If fans want to witness Coach Prime’s first trip to Morgantown, it will cost them an estimated $88 per ticket. That is the most expensive Big 12 ticket of week 11 and the 13th most expensive on the season.

Speaking of Colorado, they are a popular team. They appear on the list more than any team in the Big 12. Eight times the Buffs will appear in the most expensive game of that respective week.

If ticket prices are any indication, this is setting up to be an exciting – and expensive – season for fans of the Big 12 and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
