Safe to say, JJ Wetherholt had a good month of July.
The 22-year-old infielder for the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, has been named the Cardinals’ Minor League Player of the Month for July 2025.
His remarkable performance—highlighted by a .306/.395/.708 slash line, a 1.103 OPS, seven home runs, 16 RBIs, 18 runs, and 14 extra-base hits across 19 games. His impressive OPS led all qualified Cardinals minor leaguers.
Wetherholt has had several key highlights this season including an extra-inning walk-off single on July 1, his first career multi-homer games on July 6 and 23, and a standout performance leading off the National League lineup at the MLB Futures Game.
