Memphis Signs Former WVU Guard Javon Small to Two-Way Deal

Former West Virginia standout Javon Small signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday. Details of the contract were not disclosed.

After being drafted by Memphis with the 48th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the South Bend Indiana native is currently playing for the Grizzlies in the NBA Summer League.

In his summer league debut, Small finished with four points on 2-of-6 shooting and had six assists.

Last season with the Mountaineers, Small averaged 18.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while dishing out 180 assists. The 6-foot-1 guard was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press.

Before coming to WVU, Small played for Oklahoma State and East Carolina.

Memphis plays the Boston Celtics on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. (ET) on NBA TV.
