Report: WVU, Wake Forest Closing in on Two-Year Agreement for Hoops

By: Jonathan K. Martin | WV Sports Chat

West Virginia and Wake Forest are finalizing a two-year neutral-site series, with the first game slated for this season at a location in West Virginia, followed by a return matchup in Greensboro during the 2026-27 season.

The agreement was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

The decision to play at a neutral site in West Virginia—widely speculated to be the Charleston Civic Center, given its capacity and regional significance—reflects a growing trend in college basketball.
