In a bold and unexpected move, the Big 12 Conference has decided to scrap its preseason media poll, a decision announced by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
The decision comes on the heels of Arizona State’s remarkable 2024 championship victory, where the Sun Devils defied odds by clinching the Big 12 Conference title after being ranked dead last – 16th out of 16 teams – in the previous year’s preseason predictions.

The conference does, however, plan to continue its preseason All-Conference teams.
Big 12 ADs & coaches have decided to do away w/league’s preseason media poll, sources said. Big 12 will continue its preseason all-league teams. Last year Big 12 champ Arizona State was selected 16th in preseason poll. Big 12 joins Big Ten as only conferences w/out a league…
