Big 12 Conference Scraps Preseason Media Poll

In a bold and unexpected move, the Big 12 Conference has decided to scrap its preseason media poll, a decision announced by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.

The decision comes on the heels of Arizona State’s remarkable 2024 championship victory, where the Sun Devils defied odds by clinching the Big 12 Conference title after being ranked dead last – 16th out of 16 teams – in the previous year’s preseason predictions.

On the other hand, Utah, who was forecasted to finish first last season, finished the season with a 5-7 record and just 2-6 in conference play, ending the season 13th in the league standings.

The conference does, however, plan to continue its preseason All-Conference teams.
