In a significant recruiting win, West Virginia has received a commitment from Athens (Tn.) offensive lineman Camden Goforth.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound, McMinn County High School prospect announced his decision on social media following an official visit to Morgantown over the weekend.
After many conversations and prayers, I have flipped my commitment to the West Virginia Mountaineers!

Goforth, a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com, was previously committed to Coastal Carolina. He committed to the Chanticleers earlier in June, but the WVU coaching staff continued their pursuit.
“It’s more than obvious when I visited that the success of WVU is a top priority from Coach Rodriguez and all of the coaching staff” Goforth told WVSportsChat.com. “I’ve thought a lot about this and the opportunity is simply life changing and I know that will be obvious within the next few seasons with WVU.”
His recruitment drew attention from a wide range of programs, receiving offers from NC State, Memphis, Tulane, Florida Atlantic and Liberty, among others.
He is the second offensive lineman commit for West Virginia in the Class of 2026, joining Don Bosco Prep (NJ) offensive lineman Rhett Morris.
