WVU Football Picks Up Commitment From Three-Star DB Emory Snyder

By: Brandon Walker

On Thursday, West Virginia picked up its first commitment on the defensive side of the ball for the 2026 recruiting class. Three-star defensive back, Emory Snyder, announced he had committed to the Mountaineers. The Bixby High School (Oklahoma) product announced the commitment on X.

The 6-foot-4 inch receiver also had offers from Colorado State, Rice, Washington State, and several others.

In February, defensive coordinator Zac Alley personally made Snyder an offer. The Oklahoma native made his decision after taking multiple trips to campus. Other than WVU, Snyder also took visits to fellow Big 12 schools Oklahoma State and TCU.

Snyder recorded 45 tackles, 14 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during his Junior year, as he helped Bixby to the Class 11-2 6A Region 1 State Championship.

Snyder joins quarterback Jyron Hughley, running back Jett Walker, wide receiver Jeffar Jean-Noel, and tight end Sam Hamilton in West Virginia’s 2026 recruiting class.
